Media Training with Shirah

“I could not recommend Shirah enough. Her training was bespoke to my role, needs and priorities.”

Being a spokesperson and working with the media is not rocket science.

However, in my experience, it is a muscle that needs to be built – and even the most experienced spokespeople benefit from space to step back and consider how they make the most of their media opportunities.

I have been managing media services, briefing and supporting spokespeople and working with journalists for over 15 years. In that time, I have also been interviewed on live radio and television, often with little to no notice. Which means I have picked up many tricks of the trade along the way.

My bespoke media training is based on that experience, tailored to the needs of the individuals I work with.

Broadly, we cover topics such as:

  • working with journalists
  • how to appeal to a mainstream audience
  • know your key messages
  • video interview techniques
  • how to prepare for radio interviews
  • dealing with questions you don’t want to answer

Every session also has plenty of opportunity to work through scenarios and practice being in the hot seat. Some clients also want me to include sections on navigating social media as a media outlet, crisis communications, and public speaking.

Sound like something you’re looking for? Let’s talk about how I can help you.

Don’t just take my word for it, read what other people say about working with me.

“Working with Shirah was an absolute pleasure!

Her workshops hit the brief perfectly— relatable, highly engaging, and fun. Shirah’s knowledge and experience are super versatile, and the way she brought in her own lived experience really put the group at ease. “
